We want to update you on recent changes to the Clean Truck Check program, overseen by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The start date for periodic testing, previously slated for July 1, 2024, has been postponed to January 1, 2025. This adjustment includes an early compliance window opening on October 1, 2024, for those aiming to meet the January 1, 2025 deadlines. Additionally, while vehicle testing isn't required in 2024, fleets must still pay a $30 compliance fee by the previous 2024 deadline to avoid penalties or registration holds.
CARB mandates registration and fee payment for vehicles over 14,000 pounds, with penalties for non-compliance. California-based vehicles face registration holds, while out-of-state vehicles must comply before entering the state. We'll keep you updated on any changes through our fact sheet and encourage you to review CARB's Clean Truck Check webpage for the latest guidelines. We understand the impact of these changes on your operations and remain committed to assisting you in navigating evolving regulatory requirements. Please see below for the new compliance requirements.
