Understanding the Testing Schedule for the California Clean Truck Check Program

Below is the schedule for testing vehicles registered in California. If your vehicle is not registered in California or exempt, click this link to view your testing schedule. Please note that the 2024 compliance deadline is the month you were required to register your vehicle with the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

Key Details:

Note that if your vehicle's registration date is July, this means your testing months are January and July. Each registration month correlates to another month (six months before or after) your registration date.

Testing Frequency: Twice a year for most vehicles. Motorhomes are only subject to testing once a year.

Early Testing Window: You can test your vehicle up to 90 days before each due date. This flexibility allows you to plan your testing around your schedule.

This biannual testing schedule means you must plan to ensure your vehicle meets the emission standards.
